Valley Girls is part of the new wave of modern WI’s, fresh for the 21st century! We aim to combine some of the traditional principles of the WI like jam making, sewing and knitting with some new and exciting ideas, like cocktail mixing, speed crafting and clothes swap “swishing”! We are a new, vibrant and informal WI with an eclectic group of interesting women who enjoy learning new skills, getting together to meet new people, share ideas and make new friends.
Membership of the WI is £41 per year (2018 price). Guests are welcome to Valley Girls WI, for a £4 entry fee which covers craft materials/the speaker(s) and room hire (we are not for profit). Our parent charity, The National Federation of Women’s Institutes is the largest women’s organisation in the UK and is nearly 100 years old!
We are(as stated) not for profit, volunteer run and provide a friendly place for women to have fun, learn new skills, take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them. We are based in North Wales in the beautiful Dee Valley(….hence Valley Girls…see what we did there?!). We meet in the town of Llangollen on the first Tuesday of every month at in St Collen’s Community Hall ,8pm start, and welcome ladies from in and around the Dee Valley.
